Hello to all of you. I hope you are off to a good start. In case you are new to the Southeast District my name is Chris Gregg from Durant High School. I am the current President of the Southeastern Oklahoma Band Director’s Association and the document you are reading is our Fall Business Letter. The main purpose of this letter is to give information about our upcoming SEOBDA All-District and OkMEA All-State honor band auditions which will take place at Durant Middle School this year.

First: You can download the following information from the Southeastern Oklahoma Band Director’s Association Web-site www.seobda.org 

1. OkMEA All-State Scale Etudes for      10th-12th Grade. 
2. 7th, 8th-9th Required      All-District Scales
3. 7th Grade Audition Etudes. 
4. 8th and 9th Grade Audition Etudes
5. HS JAZZ Audition Material (Grades 10-12)
6. List of OkMEA All-State/SEOBDA District Etudes. We will use one of the OkMEA etudes plus the OkMEA sight-reading for     students who will only audition for the SEOBDA All-District Band.

Very Important Note: You do not have to be a member of NAfME for your students to audition for SEOBDA All-District Band. You must, however, be a member of NAfME to audition for the OkMEA All-State Band. You can download a NAfME membership application form from the Oklahoma Music Website www.okmea.org 

Second: Procedures and Information:

1. SEOBDA Entry Fees-There will be a one-time fee of $10.00      per student (if the student      auditions on more than one instrument they must pay an entry fee for each      audition). This will cover audition,    participation (if student makes the group). We must have a purchase order or payment   by the audition date: November 9th. 
2. Entries-All   entries must be postmarked on or before September 14, 2024, which coincides with the OkMEA All-State   entry deadline.

1. VERY IMPORTANT: Instructions on how to enter your      students for the SEOBDA All-District 7th, 8th &      9th, and High School Bands are listed below.
2. ALSO IMPORTANT: If you have      students auditioning for the OkMEA All-State Band that you will have to go      through the entry procedures listed on the OkMEA Website www.okmea.org 
3. High School Winds auditioning for      All-District Only-We will use      one of the OkMEA etudes (as      marked) and the OkMEA sight-reading for students who are only auditioning      for the SEOBDA All-District Band. The Etudes chosen for District Only Students     are marked below. You can download a complete list from the OkMEA website.
